It was in the bottom of the fifth inning when the two teams were tying 0-0. Gyeongnam High School right-hander sidearm Shin Sang-yeon started when he walked Um Ji-min (Dongui University) after a full count with one out. Choi Yu-bin (Kyungseong University) attempted a surprise bunt, and third baseman Kim Gun-hwi (Chungam High School) failed to handle it all at once, so all the runners survived. Park Moon-soon got on base with a walk, and the mound was replaced by Dongsan High School and right-hander Shin Dong-gun. However, Ahn Jae-yeon (Korea University) called the third baseman home with a surprise bunt, followed by Kim Dong-hwi with a large triple over the left field height, wiping out the remaining runners, 3-0.

The MVP was awarded to Songwon University senior Kim Dong-hwi (25) who had one hit and two RBIs in four times at bat. "I really wanted to win this time, so I prepared for the game from the previous day (on the 1st). I'm so happy to win like this," Kim said after the game.
